sudo apt-get remove kubuntu-desktop && sudo apt-get autoremove
how do i turn that into one command?
I used that command:
oops
then it said:
i want to avoid it because it will install everything again
will removing kubuntu-desktop turn off all the other stuffs?
kubuntu-desktop is just a meta-package. Once you remove it, it will leave all the packages you installed with it, plus the metapackage. So in theory it will remove all of KDE.
but i want to do the whole thing in one command
Well, it's apt-get remove kubuntu-desktop then remove --auto-remove.
Might have to remove plasma-desktop as well to remove things not tied to kde, though not used that much by default.
--dry-run:
but i want to turn it off just to turn it off
That would remove the packages, but would let you see what it would remove. It's not recommended, though.
let me try
The recommended way is to remove kubuntu-desktop, and then remove --auto-remove.
that would remove it all right
So this is an automatic removal, which is supposed to be automatic but not always working 100%
then i use apt-get autoremove to remove the other packages?
That does not remove anything that's already installed.
You could do it manually, but
